EXECUTIVE ORDER
In response to the Executive Order, An Order to Enhance Competitive Bidding signed by Governor Paul R. LePage, November 22, 2011 Requests for Proposals will be sought for the Behavioral Health Professional Training and Certification program. It is anticipated the successful bidder will be known by July 1, 2012. The Department and the successful bidder will work collaboratively to ensure continuity of service with minimal disruption.
ONLINE TRAINING
The long anticipated 50 hour Behavioral Health Professional online training will be available by mid-April, 2012. Please check the Behavioral Health Sciences Institute's website for the exact date. You can register for this training through the BHSI online registration process. Provisional BHPs or new hires have an opportunity to become fully certified before the end of the contract year (June 30, 2012) through the online course.
CONTRACT YEAR END
Trainers and Provisional BHPs please note, BHSI must receive all certification material by June 20, 2012 in order to issue certificates by the end of the contract year.
After June 29, 2012 all questions regarding BHP training and certification should be directed to the
