Maine Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Services

BHSI has a contract with the University of Maine at Augusta to provide curriculum development, training, technical assistance, and quality improvement in support of a number of the Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Services initiatives.

Current projects include:

• Providing coordination, facilitation, and support services to the Division’s Jurisdictional Team Planning initiative in Cumberland, Kennebec and York counties;
• Assisting the Division with development and implementation of an assessment tool designed to measure and support employee learning outcomes from Department trainings;
• Providing support and assistance to the Division to enhance its participation in the Wraparound Maine Initiative directed by the Department of Health and Human Services;
• Providing support and coaching to Regional Supervisors as part of the Division’s reorganization effort, which is designed to promote alignment of policies and practices with the principles of effective correctional intervention.
