Maine Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Services

BHSI has a contract with the University of Maine at Augusta to provide curriculum development, training, technical assistance, and quality improvement in support of a number of Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Services initiatives.

Current projects include:

• Developing, delivering, assessing, and coaching for the Department’s Leadership Development Program, an initiative designed to prepare Department employees for current and future leadership positions within the agency;
• Supporting the Maine Correctional Employee Training program, a new training curriculum developed by BHSI for Division of Adult Services employees designed to promote best practices in Corrections;
• Supporting Department efforts to increase employee educational attainment through greater access to higher education programming and receipt of academic credit for training and prior experience;
• Assisting the Department in developing access to higher education programs for prisoners in Maine’s Corrections system.
