Behavioral Health Sciences Institute... providing innovative curricula and training to advance workforce development.
The
Behavioral Health Sciences Institute (BHSI) is a collaboration
between The
Spurwink Institute and the University
of Maine at Augusta (UMA). The collaboration's mission is
to improve the quality and range of behavioral health services
through research and training.

Established
in 1997, BHSI (in collaboration with various public sector agencies,
private sector providers and other organizations) provides customized
training, research, quality improvement and technical assistance.
The primary focus is on the less-than baccalaureate-prepared
worker and strengthening the capabilities/skills of those who
provide direct care to children, adults, and families. |
